More on Adelaide Wedding Venues

The Adelaide region in South Australia is home to a range of hills and wine regions. There is a lot of beautiful Georgian architecture and historic, heritage sites, and buildings in this region, and the summers offer both gorgeous green backdrops and cool evenings (great for cooling off after dancing away). There is also the Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens, which is a stunning location for wedding photography, and many walking trails that wind through the Adelaide hills.

Popular Adelaide Wedding Venues & Prices

Most wedding ceremony and reception venues in the Adelaide region will be estates or wineries, which will often offer garden ceremonies and lawn marquee receptions. There are also some very lovely and luxurious hotel or manor options in the area as well, for those looking for something a little less ‘country.’

Wedding packages will vary, ranging from $100 – $150+ per head, plus venue hire fees, taxes, and gratuities.

Travel & Hotel Accommodations

The Adelaide region, which extends as far as Lenswood, is quite close to the Adelaide airport, and it takes a maximum of an hour to drive to most of these wedding venues we’ve listed, so your out-of-state and international wedding guests will be able to attend your wedding festivities with ease!  The city of Adelaide is also very close by (under an hour away by car).

There are many hotels, bed and breakfasts, etc. in the area, ranging from $80 – $225 on average. Of course, there are also more luxurious options, such as the Thorngrove Manor Hotel in Stirling, South Australia (upwards of $900 per night). Many of the wedding venues we have included here in our list also offer accommodations on site. Don’t forget to ask for preferential rates when you are booking a block for your wedding guests!

Weather and Climate Considerations

The best months to get married in the Adelaide region of South Australia are December to March 14th. These days during this summer season will be as warm as 25oC, with the cool evenings dipping to 16oC. For those looking to avoid winter weddings, avoid dates in May to September (although winter weddings are lovely as well). During this time, the temperature will drop as low as 5oC. This winter season is also the wettest season in the Adelaide hills.

The chance of rain during a summer wedding ceremony and reception is about 5 – 7%, so while the odds are that it won’t rain, you should still inquire with your venue to see if they have an inclement weather / back-up plan and/or location!
