More on Margaret River Weddings

Margaret River is located approximately 270 km south from Perth, and is situated perfectly for those who love warm climates and waterfront or beach wedding ceremony and reception venues.

There are also lovely golf clubs, vineyards, and the neighbouring Keenan State Forest for those looking for a bit of greenery in their wedding venue and wedding or bridal photography.

Of course, there is also the ocean and beaches for beautiful photos for those brides and couples looking for a more laid-back or bohemian style.

Most of the Margaret River region offers beach and waterfront resorts and wedding venues, but there are also garden, winery, and farm venues in the area as well.

The area is also known for surfing, so there will be plenty for the groom and his men to entertain themselves with while the bride and her bridesmaids get ready for the big day, or go on wine tours in the days leading up to the special event.

Popular Margaret River Wedding Venues & Prices

Some of the most popular wedding venues in the Margaret River region include Pullman Bunker Bay, Hillbrook Farms, and Credaro Family Estate.

Wedding venues in this region will cost anywhere between $2,000 – $30,000, but of course there are venues that will charge more or less.

On average, you should expect to pay the venue about $15,000—but don’t forget to factor in such extra costs as taxes, gratuities, catering costs, decoration costs, and more into your wedding ceremony and reception venue budgets.

Travel & Hotel Accommodations

There are quite a few airports in and around the Margaret River region, including the Margaret River Airport and the Busselton Regional Airport (BQB), which is less than an hour away by car.

The nearest big city, Perth, is approximately a three-hour drive north of Margaret River.

We recommend your out-of-state or international wedding guests either fly in and connect to a regional airport or drive in from Perth.

There are plenty of hotels in the Margaret River area, ranging from approximately $60 – $220 per night, but there are both cheaper and more expensive options available. There are also lovely Airbnb villas, rooms, and homes available in the area, with the most popular homes ranging from $60 to $250 a night.

Weather and Climate Considerations

If you and your spouse-to-be are looking at a spring or summer wedding in the Margaret River region, we suggest looking for date at your wedding ceremony and reception venues in the months of November to March (high of 27 oC in February and a low of 23 oC in November).

We recommend avoiding the months of June to September, because although the winters in Margaret river are quite temperate and warm, there is quite a lot of precipitation. July is the rainiest month of the year, with nearly two-thirds of the month experiencing rainfall.

The months of December to February experience the least rainfall, but don’t forget to ask your venue if they have an inclement weather option or backup.
