1. Introduction: What's your story?

I became a celebrant because I honestly just love working with couples and being part of such a big moment in their lives. Getting to know their story and helping them create a ceremony that actually feels like them is the best part of the job. Before this, I was a teacher for over 15 years, mostly in the Creative and Performing Arts – so I’ve always loved working with people and bringing a bit of creativity to what I do.

2. What's your experience as a marriage celebrant? How many weddings have you done?

I’ve had a really great mix of experience so far as a celebrant and just love each wedding I have officiated. I originally became a celebrant because two close friends asked me to marry them — and I loved it straight away. Since then, I’ve done over 20+ weddings, and every one has been terrific with excellent feedback, which means a lot. It’s such a privilege to be part of a couple’s day, and I always aim to make it relaxed, personal and memorable.

3. How far in advance do couples need to secure your services?

Whenever works really — a lot of couples book around 9–12 months out, but I’m always happy to help with last-minute plans too. As long as we meet the legal requirement of lodging the Notice of Intended Marriage at least one month before the wedding, I’ll do my best to make it happen!

4. How would you describe your ceremony style?

My style is all about making the ceremony feel genuinely you. I’m big on making sure it reflects who you are as a couple and what you’re hoping the day will feel like. I’m super flexible and happy to work around your plans and ideas — whether that’s something simple and relaxed or more styled and formal. I love bringing in your stories, a bit of humour, and those heart-felt moments too. At the end of the day, it’s about creating a ceremony that feels like a celebration of you both, with just the right balance of warmth, meaning and fun.

5. What are your fees for a wedding?

My fees can vary a bit depending on the style of ceremony and what’s involved. A simple legals-only ceremony starts from around $500, and a full wedding ceremony is generally around the $850 mark, give or take, depending on travel and any extra needs. I’m always happy to chat through what you’re after and give you a clearer idea based on your plans!

6. What do you wear when you officiate a wedding?

I usually wear a suit or blazer, but honestly, I’m happy to work around whatever vibe or style you’ve got in mind for the day. It’s your wedding, so if you’ve got a colour scheme or a certain look you'd prefer me to go with, just let me know — I’m all for making sure everything fits the feel of your ceremony.

7. How many pre-wedding sessions will the couple need to have with you?

We’ll usually catch up around 3–4 months before the big day to sign the Notice of Intended Marriage and go through all the planning. After that, I’m totally flexible — I’m available for as many chats, meetings or phone calls as you need to feel comfortable and ready. Some couples want a few check-ins, others just one or two — whatever works best for you!

8. Will you be able to create a personalised ceremony?

I'm proud to say that all of my ceremonies are personalised and completely tailored to each couple. I really take the time to get to know you, your story, and what getting married means to you both. From there, I create a ceremony that reflects and celebrates who you are as a couple — your vibe, your journey, your future. Nothing cookie-cutter — just something that feels real, meaningful, and totally you.

9. Are you available to travel if needed?

Yep, I’m more than happy to travel! Whether it’s a local spot or somewhere further afield, I’m always up for hitting the road to be part of your day.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

I take a deposit of around 20% to lock in your date, which is due within two weeks of booking. That deposit is non-refundable, as it secures your spot and covers initial planning and admin. If something changes and you need to cancel, I totally understand — I just ask that you let me know as early as possible. Life happens, so I always try to be as fair and flexible as I can.
