10 Questions with Attila Monostori

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hi, I’m Attila Monostori, founder and lead photographer at RiverCity Photography.

Every great story has a beginning, and mine starts with a camera in hand and a love for capturing the world around me. My photography journey began with landscape and seascape photography, where I found inspiration in the beauty of nature.

The rugged cliffs at dawn, the serene stillness of a tranquil lake, and the sweeping vistas of distant mountains were my first subjects. Some of my work was published in books and displayed in local libraries—a thrilling and humbling experience. It was at that moment I realized photography wasn’t just a hobby; it was a path I was meant to follow.

As I honed my craft, I discovered a new passion that would shift the course of my career: wedding photography. I fell in love with the artistry of documenting the delicate details, the joy in a couple’s eyes, and the fleeting moments of tenderness that make each wedding unique. There’s a romance in wedding photography that goes beyond the lens—it’s about telling stories, preserving memories, and capturing emotion in its purest form.

When I’m not working on wedding shoots or editing photos, you’ll often find me exploring nature. I love hiking through mountains, chasing waterfalls, or searching for colorful fungi in rainforests with my hiking friends. I find beauty and inspiration in the natural world and always carry that sense of awe into my photography. Whether it’s a breathtaking landscape or a moment of love shared between two people, I seek to capture beauty in all its forms.

I’m also a lover of good food and enjoy cooking, as well as learning about different cultures through travel. This passion often intertwines with my work, as I’ve had the pleasure of capturing international weddings along the way.

Looking back on my journey—from landscapes to love stories—I’m deeply grateful for every step, every photograph, and every couple I’ve had the privilege to work with. Photography is not just my career; it’s my passion, my way of life, and a means of sharing my unique vision of the world through the lens.

2. How long have you been shooting weddings and how many weddings have you photographed?

I have been shooting wedding for over 10 years and captured over 70 weddings.

3. How would you describe your photography style?

My wedding photography captures the essence of romance and elegance, blending timeless beauty with a classic charm.
My aim is to ensure that a couple’s special day is preserved in a way that feels both heartfelt and unforgettable.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?

Couples should ideally book their wedding at least 12 to 24 months in advance to ensure their chosen date is secured, especially if it's during a peak wedding season.

For many vendors, including photographers, the busiest months often fall in April, May, September, and October, so if your wedding falls within these months, it’s wise to book even earlier to avoid disappointment.

By planning ahead, you’ll have more options for your venue, vendors, and other details to make your big day everything you dream of!
