1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi, I’m Michelle Dale, the face behind Celebrant of Love!
My passion for weddings began years ago when I married the love of my life, and it’s only grown stronger since then. There’s something truly magical about celebrating love and the unique journeys that bring two people together.
One of the reasons I became a celebrant is because I believe weddings should be as individual as the couples they celebrate. Traditions may have changed since I walked down the aisle, but the essence of love remains timeless. I love hearing how couples met, what makes their bond special, and helping them create a ceremony that reflects their story and values.
Whether your dream day is heartfelt and traditional, fun and quirky, or anything in between, I am always honoured to bring your vision to life. Let’s celebrate your love, your way!
2. What's your experience as a marriage celebrant? How many weddings have you done?
Since starting my journey as a marriage celebrant, I’ve had the absolute privilege of officiating over 120 weddings. Each ceremony has been a unique celebration of love, from intimate elopements to grand gatherings with all the bells and whistles.
With every wedding, I bring my passion for creating meaningful, personalized ceremonies that reflect each couple’s unique story. Whether it’s blending cultural traditions, crafting heartfelt vows, or simply ensuring everything runs smoothly, I take pride in helping couples create unforgettable moments on their special day.
No matter the style or size of the wedding, I’m here to guide you, support you, and celebrate with you every step of the way.
3. How far in advance do couples need to secure your services?
In Queensland, the wedding season usually runs from April to November, thanks to the gorgeous weather during these months.
Some dates within the season are extra popular, like long weekends, public holidays, or dates with a special meaning, think 25/5/25 If you have a specific date in mind, it’s a good idea to plan ahead and book early to lock it in.
When it comes to the legal side of things, there are a few requirements to keep in mind. In Australia, you’ll need to complete and sign a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form at least one month, and no more than 18 months, before your big day. So, make sure to factor that into your timeline when setting your wedding date.
4. How would you describe your ceremony style?
As a celebrant, my style is all about creating ceremonies that are authentic, meaningful, and truly you. I believe your wedding day should reflect your personalities, your love story, and your vision for the future. Whether you want a ceremony that’s light-hearted and fun, deeply romantic, or a mix of both, I’m here to make it happen.
I bring a calm and friendly presence to your day, guiding you through every step with care and attention to detail. I love sharing your unique story into the ceremony, finding those little moments and memories that make your relationship so special.
Most importantly, I’m here to make sure you feel comfortable, confident, and celebrated. It’s your day, and I’m honoured to help make it everything you’ve dreamed of and more!
5. What are your fees for a wedding?
I have four packages to choose from
Short and Sweet - $350 for a ceremony of approximately 10 minutes for the two of you and two witnesses. Not available Saturday afternoon.
Do It Yourself - $400 grab a family member or your bestie get them to officiate your ceremony and I will step in and do all the legal bits.
Share your love - $500 is a traditional personalised ceremony where you share your special day with your friends and love ones, a true reflection of your love.
The Works -$600 is all the bells and whistles and can include little extras like a unity ceremony where I will provide the candles, sand and vase.
6. What do you wear when you officiate a wedding?
I have an extensive collection of stylish, professional, and colourful outfits, and an equally impressive collection of shoes to match! I absolutely love shoes and never miss an opportunity to add a new pair to my wardrobe.
When it comes to your wedding, I always make it a point to ask about your colour scheme and theme. My goal is to complement the bridal party and align perfectly with the overall style of your day. In fact, if you have a specific look in mind, you’re welcome to pick an outfit for me to wear. It’s all part of ensuring your ceremony feels seamless, beautiful, and uniquely yours!
7. How many pre-wedding sessions will the couple need to have with you?
The number of pre-wedding sessions we’ll have really depends on what you need as a couple. Usually, 1-2 meetings are plenty to get everything organized.
If you’re feeling a bit nervous, a wedding rehearsal can be a great way to ease those jitters and make sure everyone feels confident and ready for the big day.
8. Will you be able to create a personalised ceremony?
I absolutely love creating personalized ceremonies that reflect each couple’s unique story and values. Incorporating special rituals is one of my favourite parts of a wedding, whether it’s a meaningful sand ceremony, a beautiful handfasting, or honouring cultural traditions that hold deep significance to you and your families.
For me, it’s all about incorporating these elements into your ceremony in a way that feels authentic and heartfelt, making your day truly unforgettable.
9. Are you available to travel if needed?
Absolutely love a day trip. Anywhere from Brisbane, to the Gold Coast and Hinterland, Sunshine Coast and out through Ipswich to the Brisbane and Lockyer Valleys. My pricing includes travel to these areas.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
To lock in your wedding date, a $100 deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit secures your date and is non-refundable.
I understand that life can be unpredictable, and I’m always flexible and happy to work with you if things change. Any payments made beyond the deposit for services not yet provided will be refunded in unforeseen circumstances. My goal is to support you in any way I can to figure out the best path forward.
