1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi, I’m Meredith!
Back in 2018, I had a lightbulb moment after witnessing one standout ceremony among a string of forgettable ones. It hit me just how crucial it is to create a ceremony that’s *all about the couple*—one that sets the tone for an unforgettable day.
That realisation led me here, to the perfect job that lets me blend all my superpowers: connecting with people, sparking the party vibes, weaving creative stories, staying organised, keeping everyone calm, coordinating events, and yes, drinking champagne. It’s like the ultimate mash-up of everything I love rolled into one amazing role!
I’m the celebrant for you if:
* You see your ceremony as a super important part of your wedding day. You want laughs, happy tears and for it to set the vibe for the rest of your wedding day.
* You want to hear YOUR stories, YOUR love for each other and YOUR sparkle during the ceremony, not some preachy, boring sermon about what someone else thinks love is.
How I work:
If I’m going to make your ceremony all about YOU, then I need some content!
* I have a couple questionnaire with fab questions, some you answer together, some separately. They’re questions like “what was your first impression of your partner”, “how do they make you laugh”.
* We catch up for a cup of tea, chats and we go through all the things you can do for your ceremony. I’m up for anything, as long as no one gets hurt!
* I’m the ‘above and beyond’ type person. I care a LOT about helping people create epic weddings. I’ll help you with your wedding planning questions, your whole wedding day timeline, and know all the tricks and ideas to help you have the best day ever. Not just the ceremony!
2. What's your experience as a marriage celebrant? How many weddings have you done?
I’ve been a wedding celebrant since 2018, becoming a full-time celebrant in 2021.
I've married more than 400 couples in ceremonies ranging from 350 guests, extravagant weddings, right through to just the paperwork overlooking the ocean. Every wedding is different, and it's so special to create something uniquely tailored to each couple.
3. How far in advance do couples need to secure your services?
As soon as a couple have locked in a date, they should be reaching out to their key vendors. I book out every year, so the earlier they get in touch the better!
Sometimes I have couples who reach out with a few date options, as they really want me to be their celebrant, so they'll choose their date based on my availability. It's very flattering!
4. How would you describe your ceremony style?
Relaxed, fun, classy, meaningful.
I'm not going to go for cheap laughs, but my ceremonies are lighthearted and enjoyable. I'm always having fun, and take you and your guests on that journey with me. I want to see people laughing through their happy tears.
5. What are your fees for a wedding?
For a personalised ceremony my pricing ranges from $1870 - $2200 including GST.
This includes:
* An incredible, personalised, love and laughter filled ceremony that will have your guests raving at you about how fabulous it was.
* Free download of my Wedding Planning Guide. Absolutely everything to help you plan the best wedding ever! It gives ideas for modern twists on traditions, money-saving tips, and advice for every style of celebration. It will help you create a wedding that truly represents you. It also includes: vow writing guide, planning timeline and checklist, speech guide, run sheets for different styles of weddings, budget template, and MC guide (for those asking a friend/family to MC). EVERYTHING YOU NEED!
* Use of my PA system for pre ceremony and ceremony music: Bose S1 Pro and Senheiser wireless mic, the best there is!
* My Guide to Writing Vows. To make sure your vows are as awesome as your ceremony.
* My Recommended Suppliers List. The best in the biz for the best wedding ever.
* A face-to-face planning sesh, where I explain all the things we can do to make your wedding fantastic and we create your ceremony vision.
* Unlimited contact with me, to answer any questions, calm any nerves and make sure you both have the best time in the lead up to and on your wedding day.
6. What do you wear when you officiate a wedding?
Classy, classic, often designer dresses.
In our planning session I'll ask questions to make sure I match your colour theme.
7. How many pre-wedding sessions will the couple need to have with you?
We have one main planning session (usually around 3-4 months out from the wedding), and then depending on the couple, as many catchups as they need.
I'm a full time celebrant, so I'm available for my couples as much or as little as they need me. Sometimes I meet with couples at the start of their planning journey to help with wedding planning questions. I also chat a lot with couples in the few weeks before their wedding, with any questions they may have. I'm basically on call for whatever they want, but usually find that big planning session answers all questions for them.
8. Will you be able to create a personalised ceremony?
Of course! I’m up for anything, as long as no one gets hurt!
9. Are you available to travel if needed?
I generally stay within 2 hours of Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, but get in touch and ask nicely!
