10 Questions with Bree Amer

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hello!

I'm Bree, and I have been marrying couples since 2020! Yes i qualified right as the world shut down and weddings were banned- Brilliant timing! I have however made up for it, marrying almost 100 couples in the last few years.

I am passionate about creating bespoke ceremonies and catering to exactly what my couples dream of for their big day. It is such a personal experience and making sure you are happy, is what i am all about.

Weddings have come a long way in the last decade, they are evolving and becoming so much more personal. For me, if i capture the meaning, and romance of the day, but inject it with your personalities and a bit of fun, then it is the perfect recipe. We don't want your guests sitting there watching the clock. None of the boring bits here.

I have over 20 year's of experience in TV and Radio as an MC, so talking and engaging audiences is what i have always done. I like to leave your guests feeling loved up and ready to party with you. So reach out if you want to have a zoom call to see if we are the perfect match!

2. What's your experience as a marriage celebrant? How many weddings have you done?

I have been a Marriage celebrant for 4 years, and have done about 100 weddings. I also MC receptions, which is so good seeing the day through from start to finish with all your loved ones!

3. How far in advance do couples need to secure your services?

Well there is legal paperwork that needs to be lodged minimum of 1 month prior to the wedding, however i strongly advise booking as far in advance as you can or you will most likely miss out on your date being available. There is no such thing as too far in advance for me! I have some weddings booked 2 years out.

4. How would you describe your ceremony style?

My ceremonies are a choose your own adventure, whatever it is my couples want is what i do. However i do have a ceremony style i like, and that is modern, relaxed, inclusive, personal, and definitely not boring!

5. What are your fees for a wedding?

My fees range from $550 for a legals only ceremony, up to $2500 for celebrant and reception MC package. So just depends what the couple is after.

6. What do you wear when you officiate a wedding?

I try to blend into the background! I always ask my couples what colour the bridal party is wearing so there is no clash, and there is always the option of them looking at my instagram and letting me know what they think works best.

7. How many pre-wedding sessions will the couple need to have with you?

I generally have 2 x zoom calls and one face to face meeting prior to the day. If I am MC at the reception, there is a couple of additional zooms in there.

8. Will you be able to create a personalised ceremony?

Absolutely! I don't do it any other way.

If you want a cookie cutter ceremony, with a heap of generic words... i am not your girl!

9. Are you available to travel if needed?

I will travel pretty much anywhere, but there are obviously additional costs involved for the couple.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

I take a non refundable booking fee to secure the date for my couples. This means i then turn down every wedding enquiry for their date, which sometimes is up to ten other couples! In the event of cancellation:

Notice of cancellation of ceremony must be given by the Parties to the Celebrant in writing. If notice of cancellation is received in writing:

1. In the event of cancellation of the wedding over 90 days in advance of the Marriage Ceremony, the Celebrant will retain the Booking Fee.

2. In the event of cancellation of the wedding between 90 and 40 days in advance of the Marriage Ceremony, the Celebrant will retain the Booking Fee and require payment of 50% the Balance in full in lieu of loss of earnings and time taken to prepare the legal and other requirements for the Marriage Ceremony; or

3. In the event of cancellation of the wedding if less than 40 days notice is given, the Celebrant will retain the Booking Fee in full and require full payment of the Balance by the Parties in lieu of loss of earnings and time taken to prepare the legal and other requirements for the Marriage Ceremony and registration of the marriage.
