Welcome to Blossom Hair & Makeup, where artistry meets elegance. My name is Sarah Young, and I serve as the Creative Director and lead makeup artist at Blossom Hair & Makeup. With three decades of experience, I bring a wealth of expertise, knowledge, and skill to every wedding, ensuring a seamless service you can rely on.
As a multi-award-winning artist featured in numerous publications, I have had the privilege of working with celebrities, actors, and musicians for television, including brides on Channel 9's reality show “Married at First Sight.” My portfolio includes thousands of weddings and fashion editorials, and I have served as the head makeup artist for prestigious brands like Dior and Chanel, crafting trend-setting looks straight from the Paris runways.
At Blossom Hair & Makeup, we believe that stunning hair and impeccable makeup are for everyone, particularly for the fabulous over-40s. 2. What's your experience as a bridal hair & makeup artist? How many brides are in there in your portfolio?
As a respected and versatile bridal makeup artist, I have a genuine passion for creating unforgettable bridal looks. My reputation as one of Sydney's top artists is founded on my dedication to excellence and creativity in every project I undertake. My extensive knowledge of the latest trends ensures that our team deliver a service that not only inspires but also makes you feel extraordinary on your special day. In 2020, we proudly secured 1st Place for the best bridal hair and makeup at the prestigious "Bride's Choice Awards". Additionally, our excellence was acknowledged with 2nd place at the "Australian Wedding Industry Awards" in 2023 and 2024. We were honered to be recognised as one of the Top 10 hair and makeup artists in Sydney by Wedding Diaries. OPTIONAL ADD ON: Bridal Trial (at BAULKHAM HILLS studio) $410 incl. GST.
N.B. Travel fees start at $80 per artist/stylist, PLUS parking fees, assistant and early start surcharges extra.

4. Do you have a team of assistants or will you be the only artist that day? What will happen if you're sick or have an emergency on the wedding day?
Our team of expert hair and makeup artists in Sydney have been carefully selected by myself to uphold a very high standard of artistry and professionalism. Each Senior Artist boasts a minimum of 20 years of experience in the industry. At Blossom Hair & Makeup, we provide luxurious bridal hair and makeup services, crafting stunning and distinctive looks tailored to each bride.
Engaging a large hair and makeup company, such as ours, offers numerous advantages. In the unlikely event that a team member is unable to fulfill their duties due to illness, we can seamlessly substitute them with another artist. This arrangement alleviates the burden of arranging a last-minute backup plan, thereby reducing stress in this regard, as we maintain a roster of backup stylists available for such situations.
5. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
Our bridal hair and makeup artists add a travel fee if they have to travel to you for bridal services. This fee can vary based on the distance, the number of people in your party, and other considerations.
6. Can the bride book a wedding makeup trial appointment and will you also do a trial before the wedding?
All eyes are going to be on you at your wedding, so you want to make sure you look your best. How can you guarantee that happens? By scheduling a wedding makeup trial and wedding hair trial before the event. The last thing you want is to wait till your wedding day to realise that the bridal hairstyle you've been dreaming of won't work with the texture of your hair, or that your makeup artist's go-to foundation doesn't sit well on your skin. You can iron out any kinks, and be safe in the knowledge you'll look dynamite on the day! We know that a trial run is not an option for all brides because of busy schedules or perhaps the budget doesn't allow for it, so in the event you decide not to or can't have a trial, don't worry! just make sure you allow a little extra getting ready time on the day so your stylist can ensure you look and feel gorgeous!!
7. What beauty products do you use and would you be open to the bride using her own make-up?

To get the best finish, the best makeup results that last all day and night, you need to use the best of the best. We don't only stick to one brand. The Blossom Hair & Makeup team stock a fully equipped kit that is filled with first class products. We only use high quality, luxury makeup brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Dior, Charlotte Tilbury, Nars, Tom Ford, Bobbi Brown, Fenty Beauty, Mac, Hourglass, Stila, Urban Decay, Chantecaille, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Tarte, Make up for ever, Estee Lauder, Huda Beauty, Natasha Denona, Toofaced and many more. Our hairstyling team use luxury products such as Goldwell, White Sands, Schwarzkopf, Bumble and Bumble, Label M and tools for styling are GHD, Muk, Babybliss & Cloud Nine.... the list goes on.
8. How can you make the bride's wedding makeup last and look good in photos?
The best bridal makeup is about being “the most beautiful version of yourself. At Blossom Hair & Makeup our bridal artists use a primer that will help keep your makeup and skin hydrated while controlling oil and shine. Where there may be tears, sweat, and lots of hugging and kissing, once your makeup is complete, we will set it with a finely milled powder, which will not only seal things in place, but also prevent a shiny glare in the wedding photos. To stay camera-ready throughout the night. We also use a setting spray to seal the final look and to create the perfect picture, you need the perfect canvas.
9. How long will makeup take on the day and how long will you be staying for on the day?
The number-one secret to a stress-free wedding day is scheduling ample time for you and your wedding party to get ready. By including enough prep time in the wedding-day schedule, you'll arrive at the ceremony venue relaxed and ready to go—with plenty of time to spare.
When we're estimating how much time we'll need, we allow for 60 minutes per makeup application and 60 minutes per bridal hair styjle. It doesn't usually take that long, but it means we won't be rushing.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
In the unfortunate event that you cancel your wedding, any payments you have made are strictly non-refundable or transferable. Unfortunately, we will still need to pay our makeup artist(s) and hair stylist(s) for any time slots booked but not ultimately used. Therefore, we regrettably cannot provide any refund or credit if you decide to cancel your booking, or part of your booking.
If we book you in for hair or makeup, it means we cannot book other clients, and it's likely we have turned away other business. Due to our high demand for bookings, we are regularly booked months, if not years, in advance. This also applies to weddings that have been canceled due to personal relationships or personal financial problems.
