That said, I understand that not everyone plans that far ahead. If your wedding is coming up sooner, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’ll do my best to accommodate your date if I’m available. I take my commitment to my clients very seriously and am proud to say I’ve never missed an event due to illness or any other reason. However, I understand that unexpected situations can arise, which is why I have a clear sick day policy in place to give you peace of mind.
In the unlikely event that I’m unable to attend due to illness, I have a trusted network of professional DJs who share my standards of quality and experience. I would personally ensure that any replacement DJ is fully briefed on your event, playlist preferences, and the overall vibe you want to achieve, so the music and atmosphere remain exactly as planned.
Additionally, my agreements include provisions for full or partial refunds if a suitable replacement cannot be secured. This policy reflects my dedication to fairness and transparency—similar to the level of risk you take on with other vendors. While I do everything in my power to avoid such situations, you can rest assured that I’ve planned for all contingencies, ensuring your day remains as special and seamless as possible.
9. How do you motivate a shy crowd to dance? What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?
Motivating a shy crowd to dance is one of the challenges I love most as a DJ—it’s all about reading the room and creating the right atmosphere. I start by playing songs that are universally appealing and familiar, often opting for upbeat classics or fun singalongs that gently encourage people to tap their feet or nod along. Once the vibe starts to build, I gradually introduce tracks that are more dance-focused, keeping the energy positive and inclusive.
One of my key strategies is leading with the guests who are most likely to get involved, like the bridal party or close family members. I might play a song that I know will resonate with them or a track that was a hit during the planning process. Their energy on the dance floor often encourages others to join in—it’s contagious!
If the crowd is especially hesitant, I use subtle transitions and microphone interaction to ease them into it. For example, I might invite people to join the couple on the dance floor for a group dance or kick off the fun with a lighthearted moment like a conga line or a popular group song. 10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
If you need to cancel your event, I completely understand that circumstances can change, and I aim to make the process as straightforward as possible. My cancellation and refund policy is designed to balance fairness for both parties.
For cancellations made more than 14 days before your event, I offer a full refund of your deposit. This ensures that if plans need to change with some notice, you aren’t penalized. However, for cancellations made within 14 days of the event, the deposit will be forfeited. If full payment has already been made, and the cancellation occurs within this two-week window, the entire payment will be forfeited.
This policy reflects the time and resources I dedicate to preparing for your event, including reserving your date and turning down other bookings. While I strive to be flexible, these guidelines help protect both my business and my clients’ commitment to securing their event’s success.
